After taking part in the programme, children have a more accurate and inclusive perception of science and scientists. Comparing pre and post-workshop, there is a 30% decrease in the presence of words associated with scientific stereotypes, such as 'crazy', 'explosion', and 'lab coat'.

There is also an increase in children's self-confidence regarding their future, starting to believe that 'if I want to, I can be a scientist'.

Although with a focus on science literacy in children, our programmes have been known to
inspire children and scientists alike. After delivering a Native Scientists workshop, scientists have started libraries in schools and created interdisciplinary research projects.

Data pertaining to the 2024/25 School Year

A study evaluating the Same Migrant Community Programme has been published in the Journal Science Education.

The results indicate that both students and scientists reported positive experiences. Students immediately after the workshops showed more interest in science, felt more capable, valued science more, and showed a greater intention to engage with science in the future. They also became more interested in their heritage language.

Four weeks later, students still valued science more and felt more confident with their heritage language.
